25 Years And Counting . . .

Well, I'm still here. Still loving what I do after 25 years at it. I'm an artist, a craftswoman, a designer, an entrepreneur, a small business owner, a boss, a webmaster, copywriter and a product photographer.

I never know quite what to say when someone asks me what I do. Which do I pick? How do I condense it all into one or two words that would really encompass all that I do? Each time I pick one, I feel it is not quite right, not an accurate representation.

I'll let you know when I come up with a good way of phrasing it - if anyone out there can recommend a title, please let me know!

So I'll try: I'm an artist working in mixed media who designs and makes contemporary handcrafted gift items that I sell through my website and through galleries around the country. Whew!! But I'm a mom and a wife, too. I'm involved in a charter school start-up in my community. Watching my weight and my cholesterol, trying to exercise more, watch my stress levels and control my chocolate intake. The usual - trying to juggle it all, not be a bad mommy, find time to laugh with my husband.

So I plan to muse on what it has been like for 25 years, trying to do it all and feel like I'm not doing a half bad job at it. The ups and downs and sideways of life and work.
